Magento Zip all product image as download file

first of all we need to find an existing controller and we can insert this zipAction function on that controller
we can call this function as their front name of xml file and an index after that we can call this as zip

<a href="” class=”blueButton”>Download All Images

here mangeteam as their front name in xml
index is same
zip is zip action

getRequest()->getParams()[‘id’];
$_product = Mage::getModel(‘catalog/product’)->load($pid);
$file_arr=array();
foreach ($_product->getMediaGalleryImages() as $image) :
array_push($file_arr, (string) Mage::helper(‘catalog/image’)->init($_product, ‘image’, $image->getFile()));
endforeach;
$zipname=$_product->getName().’-product-images.zip’;
$zip = new ZipArchive;
$res = $zip->open($zipname, ZipArchive::CREATE);
if ($res === TRUE) {
foreach ($file_arr as $file) {
$download_file = file_get_contents($file);
$zip->addFromString(basename($file), $download_file);
}
$zip->close();
header(‘Content-Type: application/zip’);
header(‘Content-Length: ‘ . filesize($zipname));
header(‘Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=”‘.$zipname.'”‘);
readfile($zipname);
unlink($zipname);
}

Email template Magento doesn’t work

On your magento database, go to the ‘core_email_template’ table. In the ‘template_type’ column, change the value for ‘2’. (apply this to all the fields that have this column as ‘1’ or to all the fields you want to set as HTML, not just text)

Doing this, you are saying that this e-mail template is HTML type instead text. I hope it works.

Adding upload field in contact form and send as attachment -Magento

http://www.blog.magepsycho.com/adding-upload-field-in-contact-form-and-send-as-attachment/

Introduction

Nowadays most of the clients wants extra fields in contacts form of magento to fulfill their requirements. And adding custom fields other than upload field (for example: text, textarea, select etc) in contact form are easy in the sense you can easily include the field values in contact email template.
But adding upload field can be trickier as you have to process the file upload operation and attach it with your email contents.

Steps

1. Modify the contact form template
You need to modify the contact form template file: app/design/frontend/[your-interface]/[your-theme]/template/contacts/form.phtml:
a> Add enctype=”multipart/form-data” in

element as:

"" id="contactForm" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">
1

b> Add file upload field below ‘Comment’ field (or anywhere you want) as:

    for="attachment">

class="input-box">
        <input name=""MAX_FILE_SIZE" type="hidden" value="2000000" />
        <input name=""attachment" id="attachment" class="input-text" type="file" />

2. Create controller class for processing file upload
Next step is to override the Mage_Contacts_IndexController class.
For this you need to create a custom module. For tutorial purpose I am assuming Namespace to be ‘MagePsycho’ and Module to be ‘Customcontact’.
a> Add xml override code in your module’s config.xml as:

<frontend>
    <routers>
        <contacts>
            <args>
                <modules>
                    <magepsycho_customcontact before="Mage_Contacts">MagePsycho_Customcontactmagepsycho_customcontact>
                modules>
            args>
        contacts>
    routers>
frontend>

5
6
7
8
9
10
11

b> Create your custom controller
Create controller file in your module dir as: app/code/local/MagePsycho/Customcontact/controllers/IndexController.php
and copy the following code:

<!--?php
require_once Mage::getModuleDir('controllers', 'Mage_Contacts') . DS . 'IndexController.php';
class MagePsycho_Customcontact_IndexController extends Mage_Contacts_IndexController
{
    public function postAction()
    {
        $post = $this->getRequest()->getPost();
        if ( $post ) {
            $translate = Mage::getSingleton('core/translate');
            /* @var $translate Mage_Core_Model_Translate */
            $translate->setTranslateInline(false);
            try {
                $postObject = new Varien_Object();
                $postObject->setData($post);
                $error = false;
                if (!Zend_Validate::is(trim($post['name']) , 'NotEmpty')) {
                    $error = true;
                }
                if (!Zend_Validate::is(trim($post['comment']) , 'NotEmpty')) {
                    $error = true;
                }
                if (!Zend_Validate::is(trim($post['email']), 'EmailAddress')) {
                    $error = true;
                }
                if (Zend_Validate::is(trim($post['hideit']), 'NotEmpty')) {
                    $error = true;
                }
                /**************************************************************/
                $fileName = '';
                if (isset($_FILES['attachment']['name']) && $_FILES['attachment']['name'] != '') {
                    try {
                        $fileName       = $_FILES['attachment']['name'];
                        $fileExt        = strtolower(substr(strrchr($fileName, ".") ,1));
                        $fileNamewoe    = rtrim($fileName, $fileExt);
                        $fileName       = preg_replace('/\s+', '', $fileNamewoe) . time() . '.' . $fileExt;
                        $uploader       = new Varien_File_Uploader('attachment');
                        $uploader->setAllowedExtensions(array('doc', 'docx','pdf', 'jpg', 'png', 'zip')); //add more file types you want to allow
                        $uploader->setAllowRenameFiles(false);
                        $uploader->setFilesDispersion(false);
                        $path = Mage::getBaseDir('media') . DS . 'contacts';
                        if(!is_dir($path)){
                            mkdir($path, 0777, true);
                        }
                        $uploader->save($path . DS, $fileName );
                    } catch (Exception $e) {
                                Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')->addError($e->getMessage());
                        $error = true;

DOMSubtreeModified is depricated solution for this

This is the ultimate approach so far, with smallest code:

IE9+, FF, Webkit:

Using MutationObserver and falling back to the deprecated Mutation events if needed:
(Example below if only for DOM changes concerning nodes appended or removed)

var observeDOM = (function(){
    var MutationObserver = window.MutationObserver || window.WebKitMutationObserver,
        eventListenerSupported = window.addEventListener;

    return function(obj, callback){
        if( MutationObserver ){
            // define a new observer
            var obs = new MutationObserver(function(mutations, observer){
                if( mutations[0].addedNodes.length || mutations[0].removedNodes.length )
                    callback();
            });
            // have the observer observe foo for changes in children
            obs.observe( obj, { childList:true, subtree:true });
        }
        else if( eventListenerSupported ){
            obj.addEventListener('DOMNodeInserted', callback, false);
            obj.addEventListener('DOMNodeRemoved', callback, false);
        }
    }
})();

// Observe a specific DOM element:
observeDOM( document.getElementById('dom_element') ,function(){
    console.log('dom changed');
});

Validation magento

MAGENTO FORMS: PROTOTYPE JAVASCRIPT VALIDATION

While Javascript form validation shouldn’t be your only form of defense with regards to user input, it definitely improves the usability and efficiency of a site. It can also give your site a web 2.0 feel – which users seem to love.

Javascript Validation in Magento

By default Magento uses a file called form.js (js/varien/form.js) to provide abstract Javascript functions for forms. The most useful application of this class – in my opinion – is the form validation. To achieve this validation, form.js uses the Validation class which is part of the Prototype Javascript library. It works by checking form inputs for certain class names. Each class name tells the validator to perform certain checks on the value inside the input.

Custom Form Validation

Adding Javascript validation to your own forms is extremely simple. First, you need to create a Form (form.js) object to represent your form.

The first parameter, in this case formId, is the ID of your form. The second parameter defines whether or not the first input field in the form should steal the cursor focus. If set to true, the cursor will automatically be moved into the first input field and any user input will be entered into this field. You can disable this functionality by setting the second parameter to false.

Now that you have created a Javascript object to represent your form you need to add some validation rules to your form inputs.

Name *

Email Address *

Notice the classes ‘required-entry’ and ‘validate-email’? These both tell the classes to apply certain validation rules on the input fields. If any of the validation checks fail, the form will not be submitted and the user will be alerted to the errors.

Magento Update 1.7 to 1.9

Upgrade Roadmap for CE 1.9.0.1 from 1.7

  1. Take a backup of current database and current 1.7 code. place maintenance.flag file inside 1.7 code folder to put website offline.
  2. Download latest magento from the http://www.magentocommerce.com/download
  3. Remove all folders and files from your 1.7 code except maintenance.flag (but you should have backup somewhere) and place all folders and files from the 1.9.
  4. Now from your 1.7 merge your following custom folders into the 1.9
    • Community app/code/community
    • Local app/code/local
    • Media
    • your theme or package (app/design/frontend/default/<your theme> or app/design/frontend/<your package>)
    • custom folders from Skin (both for adminhtml and frontend).
    • copy your custom xml files from app/etc/modules/ to current app/etc/modules/
    • any custom admin theme folder from adminhtml/default/yourtheme.
    • copy your custom folders from adminhtml/default/default/ (1.7) to adminhtml/default/default/ (1.9).
    • custom js files if any from app/js/.
  5. Now go to app/etc/local.xml.Edit database details their.put your database username and password and database name.
